Vernon Press invites chapter proposals for a volume on modern Czech literature since 1948.
After the Communist takeover in 1948, Czech literature has experienced a series of upheavals, including ideological censorship, repression of dissident writers, and the divergence into Communist-sponsored, underground, and emigre trends. In the post-Communist era, this divergence has been overcome, but obvious scars remain.
The proposed volume seeks to expand on the contributions presented at the 2020 ASEES Conference as part of the panel titled “Betrayal, Anxiety, and Rebellion in Milan Kundera and Contemporary Czech Literature”. We are seeking additional contributors and thus have expanded the scope of the project. We invite contributions that concentrate on any aspect of contemporary Czech literature.
How to Submit Your Proposal
