Vernon Press invites book or chapter proposals on landscapes of transnationality.
Periods of increased global interconnectedness and interdependency have been a regular feature of human history but the speed of recent developments - and the advances in transportation and technology that make them possible - is unprecedented. The concept of transnationalism reflects this change, referring to the ways by which actors forge connections between localities across national borders, and the new modes of politics, economics and culture associated with them. Of course, processes of interconnectedness present both opportunities and challenges – for example, the circulation of people and ideas can be perceived as increasing mutual understanding but also as a threat to personal and group identities.
All proposals focused on exploring the complexities of transnational landscapes from any academic discipline (or from an interdisciplinary perspective), are encouraged to be submitted.
