Vernon Press – Awards: A Roundup of Prizes

At Vernon Press we are aware of the difficult period the world is undergoing as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the particularly tough time academics and scholars are facing with respect to their teaching and research plans.

We understand now more than ever the importance of sharing positive and encouraging news, and we would like to congratulate and celebrate the achievements of six members of our community of authors and editors.

This past year, one volume chapter and two books published by Vernon Press have been granted prestigious awards by respected institutions and associations. It is an honour for us to have contributed to the publication of such outstanding scholarship. Congratulations from the Vernon Press team to:

  • Sofia Wickberg’s chapter, ‘Political Corruption in a World in Transition: The Fluctuating Boundaries of Corruption’, included in Political Corruption in a World in Transition (ed. Jonathan Mendilow and Éric Phélippeau, 2019) was awarded the research prize by the #StopCorruption Association.
  • Parallaxic Praxis: Multimodal Interdisciplinary Pedagogical Research Design (by Pauline Sameshima, Patricia Maarhuis, and Sean Wiebe; 2019) was awarded the 2020 Society of Professors of Education Outstanding Book Award.
  • Cosmopolitan Ambassadors: International Exhibitions, Cultural Diplomacy and the Polycentral Museum (by Lee Davidson and Leticia Pérez-Castellanos; 2019) was awarded the 2020 Miguel Covarrubias Prize to the best research work.

We are certain that our authors and editors will continue to earn recognition for their prominent and influential scholarship and research in the future, and we are delighted to assist in making their research internationally available. We wish our community of authors, editors, reviewers, and readers a favourable 2021, and we remain confident that we will soon have more wonderful news to share over the course of this year.
