Call for Proposals – Economics Series
Vernon Press, an academic publisher in the social sciences and humanities, is now accepting submissions for its Economics Series. This call for proposals is open to scholars wishing to publish a monograph or edited volume and contribute to current debates in economics through a wide range of perspectives and methodologies.
Why Economics Matters Today
The importance of understanding economics today is a trending topic globally. Economic knowledge leads to a better understanding of human choices, power structures, political decisions, stock market inflation, and the allocation of scarce resources. What drives growth? What are the causes of such an unequal world? How do economic systems evolve in response to crises, innovation, or collective demands for change?
These foundational questions are more relevant than ever for researchers looking to publish papers on economics that address both historical insights and contemporary challenges.
Rethinking Economics in a Changing World
Today’s economic challenges demand a renewed and critical approach. Internationally debated topics such as climate change, artificial intelligence, and geopolitical instability are disrupting our understanding of global economies.
At the same time, new economic movements—including the circular economy, degrowth theory, and feminist economics—are challenging traditional models and prioritizing sustainability, equity, and well-being. These emerging areas are reshaping what it means to do economic research in the 21st century.
Digital Economies and Consumer Behavior
The digital world has also reshaped the way we earn, save, and spend money. New trends on social media actively influence consumer behavior. The algorithm shows us exactly what we’d like to have: travel tips, product suggestions, influencer recommendations. This shift has made us reconsider familiar concepts of value and consumption.
Meanwhile, innovations like cryptocurrency have sparked ongoing debates about the true value of money and the future of financial systems. Researchers are increasingly exploring how technology intersects with economics, behavior, and global finance.
