INDEPENDENT PUBLISHER OF BILINGUAL SCHOLARLY BOOKS IN THE HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

Call for Proposals – Monographs or Edited Volumes on AI in Social Science

Vernon Press, an academic publisher in the social sciences and humanities, invites submissions of monographs or edited volumes that explore the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) in social science. This call for proposals welcomes all areas of study that engage with the evolving role of AI in human society, cultural dynamics, and social thought.

Publish Research on AI’s Social Impact

As AI becomes embedded in the social landscape, it is no longer peripheral to academic inquiry. Artificial intelligence is now shaping the questions we ask, the methods we use, and even the assumptions we challenge in disciplines like sociology, political science, anthropology, and beyond.

Rather than being viewed solely as a tool for efficiency, AI is increasingly seen as entangled with questions of power, language, identity, and knowledge production.

Critical and Cross-Disciplinary Perspectives Needed

The presence of AI in social science calls for more than technical analysis—it invites critical, interdisciplinary reflection. We encourage proposals that ask:

  • How does AI reconfigure our understanding of agency, labor, surveillance, or truth?
  • What happens when machines participate in meaning-making, decision-making, or care work?
  • How do societies negotiate trust, fairness, and bias in human-AI collaboration?

This is an excellent opportunity to publish a book or academic paper on AI in social science that addresses real-world societal changes through a scholarly lens.

Suggested Topics for Submission

We welcome proposals that critically examine the influence of artificial intelligence on the structures, meanings, and futures of social life. Suggested topics include, but are not limited to:

  • AI-driven methodologies in sociology, political science, anthropology, and linguistics
  • Ethical, legal, and governance challenges of AI in society
  • AI’s impact on education, labor markets, public health, and social policy
  • Human-AI collaboration, trust, bias, and fairness in social contexts
  • Cross-cultural studies of AI adoption and its societal implications

This call for academic proposals is open to both individual authors and editors compiling collaborative volumes.
