Call for Book Chapter Proposals - Democratic Innovations
This volume seeks to explore rising practices, institutions, communities, systems, and technologies designed to deepen, broaden, and revitalize democratic governance in the 21st century. The central theme of this volume disengages emerging issues on how societies across the globe are experimenting with novel approaches to citizen/youth participation, deliberation, accountability, and inclusion in political decision-making, by providing a comprehensive understanding of both the opportunities and challenges of democratic innovations in different political, cultural, and technological contexts. With the premise to trigger a shift towards a fundamental triumph of democracy in modern states, where the global south is no exception, this volume discusses the main challenges and venues of democratic innovations, and suggests new flows of contemporary democratic systems, where youth and new technologies erupt.
