Call for Book Chapters: Cultural and Religious Diversity of Migrant Children in Schools. Identities, Practices, and Educational Responses

In a global context marked by growing mobility, displacement, and cultural diversity, schools have become vital spaces where social belonging, identity negotiation, and civic participation are shaped. This volume explores how education systems respond to the complex realities of migrant and displaced children, focusing particularly on their socio-educational inclusion, cultural and religious identities, and experiences of belonging in host and transit countries.

Drawing on fieldwork from around the world, the book highlights how schools function as both sites of opportunity and arenas of tension in diverse societies. It aims to bridge sociological, pedagogical, and intercultural perspectives to examine how educational practices can foster inclusive, equitable, and rights-based approaches for migrant and displaced youth. By connecting research on schooling, migration, and identity formation, this volume seeks to contribute to global discussions on inclusive education and social justice in an era of intensified migration.
