Call for book chapter proposals: "Healing from Harm: Reclaiming Mental Well Being in Abusive Workplaces"

We are inviting scholars, researchers, Career Coaches and Employee Wellness Advocates, Human Resources and People Management Professionals: HR/Leaders/Executives, Mental Health Practitioners and Workplace Counselors: Therapists, counselors, and all those who support clients struggling with workplace abuse, Individuals Transitioning Careers or Entering the Workforce: New graduates, NGO Workers, Clinical Psychologists, School and College Students to share their insights on the experiences of mental and emotional turmoil they are forced to face to adhere to the authoritative rules and disciplines.

Book Purpose: The book aims to unfold through the collected wisdom a knack of the issues felt but not discussed and the probable solutions that the psychological victims implemented. This collection seeks to contribute to a better understanding of how organizations can successfully navigate the complexities of such work environments, addressing the productivity concerns.

Guiding questions:

What constitutes an abusive workplace, and how can individuals identify the signs of harmful behavior and toxic environments?

What psychological and emotional impacts do abusive workplaces have on individuals, and how do these experiences shape long-term mental well-being?

What strategies can individuals use to reclaim their mental health and rebuild confidence after experiencing workplace abuse?

What organizational policies and leadership practices can prevent and address abusive workplace behaviors effectively?

How can individuals advocate for systemic change while fostering a culture of mental well-being, resilience, and accountability in workplaces?

Topics of Interest:

  • Understanding Workplace Abuse (bullying, harassment, microaggressions, gaslighting, etc.) and Its Impacts
  • Recognizing the Red Flags of a Toxic Workplace and the Emotional and Psychological Costs of Workplace Abuse
  • How to Set Boundaries in a Toxic Environment for Building Mental Resilience and Inner Strength while Coping with Gaslighting and Manipulative Behaviors
  • How and When to Seek Support and Finding Allies.
  •  What could be The Path to Recovery to Reclaim Your Mental Health for Cultivating a Culture of Respect and Mental Wellness.

Submission Guidelines: Please submit an abstract of up to 500 words, including the proposed title of the chapter, research questions or objectives, methodology (if applicable), and a brief outline of the chapter’s content. Include a short biography for each author (150 words max).

 

Deadline for Abstract Submissions: January 31, 2025

Notification of Acceptance: February 10, 2025

Full Chapter Submission Deadline: March 15, 2025
